Dream by all means. It's free.

I have dreams. A lot of them.

Artist.

Cartoon animator.

International school art teacher.

National Geographic photographer.

Wildlife technician.

Skyscraper architect.

Graphic designer.

TV host for travelling channel.

World traveller.

Skiing at Swiss Alps.

Hiking in Yellowstone.

Fly over Grand Canyon.

Sky diving.

Bungee jumping.

Hug a chimpanzee.

Play with lion cubs.

Kiss a dolphin.

Ride an elephant.

Gosh..I'm writing this with no seconds break. This is truly by heart. Looking back at the list, some are impossible to achieve. And some still have hope.

Of all the dreams I listed out above, non are yet achieved. I've achieved some dreams, which I might list out some other time. I repeat, might!

Assume this as my prolong wishlist that are still in progress.

Till then.

I am off to bed, to dream. May the dreams become a reality.

Apa itu hashtag? What's it used for?

Hashtag is a craze for many people socializing on the Internet nowadays. Be it Facebook, Twitter...and especially Instagram.

But the reason why aku terpanggil untuk write this is because ramai yang salah guna 'hashtag' tu. Ok. Let's cut it short and simple.

Here's an example on how to use a hashtag dengan betul.

On weddings etc. Contoh pasangan kat atas ni. Diorang create hashtag sendiri iaitu #MJwedding11 on Instagram. So tetamu yg datang bila dah puas tangkap gambar dengan pengantin, tangkap gambar makanan before-after dan sebagainya..kemudian nak post ke Instagram, maka diorg letak la hashtag tersebut pada gambar.

What the hashtag really means is that it acts as a folder. Bila kita klik #MJwedding11 yang berwarna biru tu, we will see a bunch of photos taken by other people yang attend wedding yang sama. Pengantin pun senang la nak tengok compilation gambar2 taken by others rather than nak mintak diorang e-mel atau whatsapp satu-satu. Haaa...kan senang!

Kadang-kadang aku ketawa sorang2 tgk Instagram orang ber-hashtag merapu (as i call it). Sorry. But it just shows people u're being a follower and not understanding how it actually works.

Don't ever simply create hashtags with no meaning. For example #bosangilerkatumah #muahahakekekehohoho #akuboringlajomjln #sakitpaledohh #bosannyeuwww #agak2sapemenangaf13

Unless of course klau hashtag tu memang wujud la. Camne nak tau hashtag tu wujud ke tak? Well, for a start, memang hashtag tu wujud once korang letak tanda '#' depan sesuatu perkataan tu. Sebab tu dia kaler biru.

If you're lucky, there might be 1 or 2 photos. Hmm..(ngam la korang berkawan).

I'm not pointing out to anybody here. I'm just sharing what I know. I used to be a noob with these hashtags too. I did not dare use any hashtags on my photos once upon a time. I just captioned it, and post. Eventually, when I understood what hashtags were meant for, baru aku guna.

Hashtags need to be relevant

Tapi tolong laaaa....jangan guna hashtag terlampau banyak. Annoying tau tak? Macam contoh bawah ni.

Oh. Alang-alang aku dah bercerita pasal hashtag ni kan. Sebagai rakyat Malaysia yang cintakan negaranya. Jom kita share gambar with the hashtag of #PositivelyMalaysia. If you don't know what it is, go to the page first on Instagram. See samples from others. Nak letak gambar korang lepak ngan kawan-kawan kat mamak sambil makan tose/roti tisu dan tengok bola ke..atau gotong-rotong beramai-ramai kat kampung untuk hapuskan denggi ke.... Anything. Anything that resembles Malaysia. This indirectly promotes Malaysia in the eyes of the world. People from all over the world can click at the tag and see what Malaysia is all about. Fun isn't it? Of course lahh funn~

Salon Du Chocolat...strictly for chocolate lovers.

It was raining heavily yesterday after work. As much experience as I have gained throughout working here at Jalan Duta in KL, rain is equivalent to major traffic jams. Also equivalent to 2 hours drive back home. Sigh~

Realizing my tummy is drooling for something chocolate-y, I googled for Salon Du Chocolat at Publika. I've always passed by the shop, but never went in. And hastalavista baby..I sure did the right thing. Here's a picture of what the place offered, and instantly made me zoom off to Publika.

Sad thing was, I was here alone. It was unplanned, so I didn't manage to ask anybody else to tag along.

It's just a sweet petite cafe
Salon Du Chocolat is alike DipNdip. Offering chocolates, chocolates and chocolate-based delicacies. *slurppp*.

And therefore, I chose White Chocolate Crepe to please my happy tummy. And it only costs RM14.90. With no service tax charged. What up?

Dear readers, please wipe your drool off. And ohh..is that your tummy making that grumbling noise?

The menu
My first visit here gave me an out-of-the-world satisfaction. Now I know where to satisfy my chocolate cravings in case I crave for one next time. And also because Dip n Dip in Bangsar is quite far from home.

If you happen to look for a 'chocolate friend', call me. Or if you happen to have a better recommendation to where else can I satisfy my chocolate cravings, tell me. Do! Hahahahaha..

Til next time.

Tesco Graduate Program- Open Day 2013

For a second, I never quite knew what this was. I couldn’t even recall when I applied for the program. All I knew was, my name was shortlisted among hundreds who applied. Well, that’s good news. At least for now.

A week before the program, I started doing a little research about the program. There weren’t much info on it. There was one blogger from UK. Still, she didn’t mention much about the program. So I called up Tesco Malaysia just to be sure. The guy on the phone just reminded me to bring along a calculator and pens, since there will be an English and Maths test, followed by an interview. Also, just so I wouldn’t get lost on the venue, I did a recce. The venue was at Kepong Village Mall, where Tesco Malaysia HQ and Academy was.

Still, what kindda program is this?

I arrived at a comfortable 30-minutes before the program started. It’s always important to portray a good first impression y’know? Equipped with proper ‘business attire’ and a hand-held certificate folder, I was the fourth person to arrive. There were approximately 40 people present that day. All fresh grads. There were graduates of business admin, property, agriculture, biology, fashion and few others. Ranging from local public and private universities, as well as international graduates. All came for the same reason, ‘competing’ (as I call it) to get a spot for the Tesco Graduate Program.

So here’s my conclusion on the program, after being briefed by the Tesco rep. In order to become a Tesco Trainee/Apprentice, we’d have to undergo Eng/Math tests and interview (like what I went through). When passed, there’s the Assessment (topic study & presentation), and few other assessments.

And no, it doesn't end there. We’d then have to undergo a 1 year and a half of other training in order to become ‘future leaders’ of Tesco. We will be placed in Store Placements in which we will go through job rotation; being a cashier, a butcher, a baker, a storekeeper and others. Then, we will be placed at the Tesco warehouse to train for logistics and supply chain. Also, there will be formal training, experienced learning and supported learning. Throughout the period, they will identify where our strengths are in order to place us in the right department suitable to us. Like the operational term, Put the Right People for the Right Jobs. Finally, the Apprentice. That’s Top 20! (The total of trainees Tesco is recruiting this year). Wow, so many levels to pass through, yet so limited vacancies.

I am writing this to help future graduates prepare themselves in case they are selected for a Graduate Training Program as such. At least they are more prepared mentally and physically. In such a competitive world of career for fresh grads, one needs to learn to stand out from another. We no longer live in a world where ‘Employers seek Employees’ rather its ‘Employees seek Employers’. Almost everyone has a Degree in hand, competing in various grades and pro-activeness in extra-curricular activities. What matters next, is how one can stand out during interview; your appearance, communication skills and attitude & personality.

Hokayyy..cut the formality! The tests were really hard I’d say even for an objective paper. I’m not sure how others did, although it seems obvious it was hard for them too. Time! Time limits were very stressful. 45 minutes for 45 questions. Even PTD questions weren’t as hard as this. All questions were in English. All questions were related to graphs handed out on another piece of paper. Calculators were allowed. I guess I spent too much time thinking in the first place, that I struggled in completing all questions on time. The English test was hard too. There were many ‘professional’ and alien words. Also, there was listening test and grammar test. The listening test used British English. To sum up, the listening and grammar test was wayyy easier. Gave me a little confidence then.

Right after all the mind-blowing tests, was the interview. Of all the people, I was the first person to be called out. Alhamdulillah. (For some reason of course) *wink*.  After exiting the room, everyone was like, “How was it? What did they ask? Was it hard?” After giving them a few hints, I left. Thank God I managed to avoid the traffics. It was 4.30pm. Everyone was still at work.

Ooo…I’m getting a nervous breakdown just thinking about the results already. Which is in a few weeks’ time. After the Open Day, I have become more objective. I want this. I want to be the Apprentice. In Gods’ will. Otherwise, another job-hunting then.

Till next time.

Aidilfitri 2013

So Raya (Eid) falls on a Thursday this year. I chose to take my leave starting from Monday, August 5 until Wednesday, August 7. That's three days of non-paid salary this month! Urghh. A day off means everything to you when you are a Temporary Officer working in a full/semi government.

Anyhow. Raya don't come all year round. So a sacrifice is needed.

We're celebrating our first day of Raya in Penang this year.

To avoid contributing to the increasing number of road transports on land, my family and I decided to hit off to Penang that Monday, as early as 5am. Managed to stop at R&R Sg. Buloh for Subuh prayers. And arrived in Penang 3 hours and a half later. That was a fast journey if you asked me. No traffic. No policemen hiding under bridges to fine speeding cars. We even rolled down our windows for fresh air, rather than having our air-conds on.

We arrived in Penang at 9.30am. Stopped by at Queensbay Mall for last-minute shopping. Had to wait until 10am for the shops to open. Meanwhile, tis' what we do.

Tis' was a photo prop

Ironman touched my butt me!

My marvel heros, all in one place.

Mr.Go sucking my sister's finger

All these shooting cases in the country lately is giving me the chills.

Whenever we have our first day Raya in Penang, our must-have menus are Ketupat Palas and Rendang Ayam & Daging. Provided with few other add-ons.

So here are among the many photos we took during Raya.

No particular colour theme this year. But somehow, we ended having pink by accident.

Snap! Snap!

Pinky sisters??

Nak duit raya!

The Blues vs Harimau Malaya

I am such a snail!

Sorry if you're reading this and wondering why that is such a good idea to start a write-up.
I meant to say that I am so slow in updating my blog. I don't usually have the luxury time to update stuffs right after. I tend to hold the topic for a while, say, 1 day later, or maybe a week later. But I have a record of delaying my story-telling a month after! Major slow! Guess I'm gonna have to learn from Turbo the snail then.

Now here's the real story.

Last Sunday, was my mom's birthday! Also, my family and I went to the Chelsea vs Malaysia XI friendly match game at Shah Alam Stadium. My dad and sister is a hardcore fan of The Blues. My brother and I, on the other hand, the Red Devils. My mom? She supports any team that wins. Hahahaha. Watching football games in stadiums have been our family's favourite pastimes. But ever since we moved to Sabah, we stopped going for a while. Now that we're back in KL, we have got to start all over!

My sister was the first one who was so eager to get the tickets for The Blues. Her friends' dad's friend's friend (not sure how long the chain goes) were selling them. But my dad, being extra precaution about scammers, surveyed the tickets himself at several Adidas and TicketPro outlets.

Turns out, my sister was late in purchasing the tickets from her friend, which was later sold out. Instead, we bought our tickets at a TicketPro outlet in Sungai Wang. RM88. Pretty costly. There were cheaper seats for RM45, but watching the game from behind the goalpost? Not the best view ever. But paying RM408 nor RM308 is really that worth it, despite having the best view at the grandstand.

We sat at the purple zone. Upper tier.
So since I'm not a big fan of Chelsea. Why bother going?
For the sake of Jose Mourinho, Petr Cech and John Terry of course. *smirk*. My sister was head over heels on Lucas Piazon because of his cuteness. Whereas my mom was excited to know the man behind the name of Lukaku. hahahaha.

Here's the view from our seats.
It was a fun match to watch. Seeing Mourinho standing and watching his boys on the field. Exactly the way he is on TV! Rajagopal was a lil different than usual. This time, he was wearing a windbreaker! Hiding his usual white shirt he wears that symbolizes luck (according to some). Anyhow, every player played exceptionally well. Kudos to Amri Yahyah for playing so professionally well. At least that's how I see it. It's always him I see that plays really good. Why aren't there any international team importing him? Because of his seniority perhaps?

Final score: 4-1. Hey, at least we managed to break the 'chicken egg'. Plus, it's only a friendly match.

After the game, we had to walk a few kilometers to our car, where we parked outside the stadium compound. When we arrived earlier, the whole parking lot was already full. Plus, it'd be a lot hectic with traffics and having everyone exiting the car park all at once. So hence, we chose to park somewhere more tranquil (giteww).

It's been 9 years since I last came to Shah Alam Stadium.

(I have more pictures. Will update later. When I have the time. Maybe tomorrow. Or next week. And I promise, it won't be next month.!)

P/S: Barcelona's coming to Malaysia!!! Omaigod. Omaigod. But 10 August??? Ain't no good date. I'll be in Penang for Raya. Sigh. *inhale* Sigh. I miss the chance to see the world's No.1 player: Messi! Goodbye Messi. Till next time.

Cambest jer
