Internship is normal to many. Some liked the idea, some beg to differ. However, the same outcome is attained by all intern students; Experience.
Some students may have already experienced working life even before they furthered their studies. But for many like me, it's a whole new challenge. I've never worked in a big office before.
I'm now pursuing my intern program in MATRADE; Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation. I need not mention why I'm here. You can read my previous posts on
So here's my daily journey to work:
4am: Sahur
6.30am: Drive to LRT Cempaka. Park car. Pay RM3 for daily Parking fee.
6.45am: Catch the LRT to Titiwangsa station. RM2.80. Read a book.
7.30am (precisely): Boarded the RapidKL U618 bus to Jalan Duta. RM2.00.
8.00am: Thumb-in. Have another 30mins before work time
8.30am-5.29pm: Work. Work. Work.
5.30pm (precisely): Thumb out. Boarded the RapidKL U618 bus to The Mall. RM1.00.
6.00pm: Catch the LRT to Cempaka station. RM2.80
6.30pm: Drive back home. 10mins.
Notice the word 'precisely' I wrote? Well that's because those are the exact time of occurrence. If I'm late by a minute, I'll miss the bus. And I'll have to wait for another 30mins. A risk I need not want to take.
So far, I've done a lot of work related to data and information. Since I'm working in MATRADE, most are of informations related to overseas. Exports and imports. Country profiles. Going to meetings for upcoming events...and many more to mention. And since I'm working in the Food, Biotech, Halal and Herbs, and MIHAS section, the key point here is Halal. So far, I'm OK with this place. The people are friendly. I just can't describe in detail of my experience here so far since I'm in the process of adapting to this place. But what I can assure myself, it'll get hectic after Raya breaks. I bet O.Ts are up. Guess I'm gonna have to start driving to work by then.
Will talk more some other time. I have a factory visit in an hour. So needs some preparation to do. Toodles~
