To KB with love~

Plan for the weekends...to KB ya'll. (It's Kota Bharu...not Kota Belud).

I've never been to KB before. Well...let's just say, Kelantan on the whole. I've set foot before in Kelantan years and years back. We were on our way to Kuantan, so we sorta stopped by somewhere in Kelantan (somewhere Southern). So, i can't really say i've 'been' to kelantan. I've been everywhere else in Malaysia, but not Kelantan.

But this weekend..to Kota Bharu people!

Geez...what's with the excitement u ask? Hmm..blame my housemate, Anne for telling me the luxury of foods and where people call, "Shopping Heaven" there in KB.

Okay readers...will update more of the getaway sooner or later.

Let's take a lil peek shall we..

Lunch at UiTM Dungun Hotel...also as part of a Final Exam puppet

Today for lunch, my friend (a.k.a ex-housemate) invited me to UiTM Hotel here in Dungun. Since it was free, i repeat FREE, i went along.

The lunch was actually a part of a final exam test for Hotel Management Second-year students. Where students were tested on food service and culinary skills etc and a lecturer taking down notes and marks. Creepy~

And my part of the whole test? The customer. (Good thing the students didn't get a nosy customer). Although i did wish they had one. Just so i'd see how they handled the nosy bums.

Starting with the Appetizers: A choice of a Fish...something (The name was too scientific to remember) and Caeser Salad. I had: Caeser Salad. Hmm...not bad for a student. The layout was very well done. Taste was umphhh~ (sorry no pictures. Was too excited to grab a taste).

Next were the Soups. We were given the choice of Beef...sumthing (adehh..i've no idea why they have to put such scientific names in foods), and a Cream Mushroom Soup and Spinach. (This i darn remember cuz i liked it). Except for one time when i bit a garlic. Yuck!

Cream Mushroom Soup and Spinach
Do i look like i'm enjoying the food? I darn did!

Next menu: The Main Course. To simplify, a choice of fish and chicken were given. I of course lah chose chicken.
That pear-shaped covered with orange bread crumbs is actually mashed potato shaped in pear.
And bunga cengkih for the stem. Creative~

Potato-based sauce

The fish:
That almost-similar to my pear-shaped-mashed-potato is actually made of yam.

At this point, i'm already near-full. But since the food was good..Next Please! The Dessert. No choice this time. It was a strawberry plus (dunno-what-else) cake.

Hey, there's a white Toblerone! Oh the cake was good. I was already full to the max by this time, but i finished it anyway.
This was all that's left~

Lastly, The Beverage. A choice of tea and coffee. I of course la tea~ (Still want to see what tea looks like ah?) Google yourself lorr. (Ape hal aku cakap Cina nie?)

Introducing Anne. She's responsible for bringing me here. I love u lah Anne!
Left guy: the tested student a.k.a our Waiter (or is there another term for it?)
Oh-oh..here comes the lecturer
Neatly preparing the dish for the customers. Here, he's gently transferring the  fish onto a main dish plate.
All his movements are watched, and given marks.

Seriously, i never knew Hotel students really had this sorta exams. They were given marks on how they serve customers, treating them well, how they interact, serve foods with ethics, food presentation, and many other processes that i may not be keen of.

I'm proud of them. Oh, and for the guy whom served us (Aizat?), i'm sure you did well. Judging from my point of view, u'd past with flying colours.
(err...takde compensation ke? Free Breakfast/Dinner perhaps?)

Nak Free aje~

To Dungun with love....ssssss

Sigh~ (blom apa2 dah mengeluh)

Mann, can't believe holiday is coming to an end. I came back to Dungun last Monday. Looking fair-well excited as the new semester indicates a new spirit. Spirit equals to a whole new resolution (like a New Year resolution sorta thing).
But somehow everything started collapsing. (Almost). I thought class started on Sunday (week starts on a Sunday here, geddit?) Turns out..class will only start on a Wednesday. Duhhh~

Back to the Monday issue. Well, i was accompanied by my parents in driving back to Dungun from KL. As i set foot at my rental home, my dad and i started cleaning the front porch. While my dad n i were lifting bricks, my dad found a centipede. Yuck!
So from then on, we became a lot more cautious. We used our feet to shift the bricks. And that's when things became a lot more hectic. I found this:

Say euwww~
Let's zoom in a bit more...
slimey~
We couldn't just let it go off. So i killed it. (Sorry~)
The ants helped the last bit. Few hours later, skeleton was all that's left.

It was a baby snake. Somehow, we knew. If there was a baby, then there's a mother.

Darn right i was. Yesterday (Wednesday), the mother 'came'. I was reversing my car into the porch, when i caught something black slithering. I didn't know what type of snake it was then. All i planned to do was to take my steering-lock and bang in into its head. But right after i opened the door, it quickly ran slithered into a drainage. (Good thing i didn't panicked). I quickly took 2 bricks and covered each entrance of the drainage so that it wouldn't run slither away. I called my dad for help. He warned me not to do anything to the snake alone. (Darn. All i wanted was to become a hero. LOL everyone).

So i seeked help from the next door neighbor. Wasn't much help. Too busy handling customers. (Next door neighbor is a food stall). But he did mention he'd seen several snakes before at our areas. Pffftttt.

So in the end, i called 999, which later linked me to JPA Dungun. Several minutes after the call, 3 'actual heroes' came to the rescue. (Darn i wasn't part of it). And sure called attention to the 'next door neighbor and its customers.
JPA doing their job
i learned that by spraying the snake with Ridsect helps to make them drunk dizzy.
Making the rescue a lot more easy.
"Sepandai2 ular masuk saluran air, akhirnya kena tangkap dek JPA jugak". -Yongcakap-
This is a black cobra if u must know.
into the sack it goes. And please dont ever come back.

Lesson of the day: Make sure your house compound is CLEAN AT ALL TIMES! Don't ever create a place that makes the snake or other venomous creatures think that they are welcome.

I'm glad nothing bad happened to me, nor to anybody else. I'm sharing my experience here, so that everyone else will always be extra careful when dealing with these sorta thing.

Word of Advice: Do call 999 if something like this happened to u. DON'T take matters at your own hands. Regardless of how much info u gain after watching Discovery, Animal Planet or National Geographic channel  on snakes. Cuz u just never know what snake it is you encounter.
One bite of a snake will cause u suffer for eternity. It'd be better if u died, but what if u were paralyzed? Nauzubillah~
